Branson Getaway/Carrie Underwood Concert
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry I'm a little late posting, but I just wanted to tell you guys about our recent Branson trip. We had tickets to see Carrie Underwood on Sunday, October 22 at The Grand Palace so we decided to go up on Friday and make a weekend out of it.
Friday
We got to Branson around 5:30 and checked into the Green Gables Inn...our favorite place to stay. After we got everything unloaded we went to look for the Family Fun Factory out by the Welk Resort. We thought it was suppose to be at the old Butterfly Place location, but when we got out there the building looked empty. Does anyone know anything about this place, did it ever open? We then went down to the Branson Landing to do some looking around and then on to supper at Steak N Shake...a staple for any Branson getaway.
Saturday
We had breakfast at Denny's and decided to see a morning show. We decided to go see the Doug Gabriel show. We stopped by the 2 for 1 ticket outlet and got tickets...great deals here!! The show was wonderful. Doug can really belt it out and everyone in the show is very talented. Doug and his wife, Cheryl seem like very nice people. After the show we headed back down to the Landing to eat lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and finish browsing. We had about an hour wait at Joe's so that gave us time to do our shopping. We sat out on the deck at Joe's, we really liked the view! We got to meet Mellie and had a nice little chat with her, which was great! After a little afternoon shopping, we had supper at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Grill, where we also got to watch a little of the Cards game on the flat screen TVs above the bar! We had dessert at Cakes N Cream and then played a round of Put Put at Grand Country.
Sunday
We had breakfast at Shoney's and headed out to Silver Dollar City. All of the fall decorations were so pretty and the music was great. We tried the beef stew in a bread bowl and also split a club sandwich from Big Jack's Sandwich Shop...both were great!
Then it was time for the main reason for the trip....the Carrie concert!! We got to the Grand Palace around 5:45 and got in the souvenir line. After we got our souvenirs we had some time before the concert so we decided to go look around the Grand Village shops. We got back to the GP and finally got to our seats...we were sitting in the lower balcony. Steve Azar opened the show and he did a great job. We really enjoyed his acoustic set! After a 20 minute intermission it was time for MISS CARRIE UNDERWOOD!! All I can say is WOW...she is so GREAT live!! She seems so sweet and down to earth. She was great on every song and we really loved it when she played her guitar. She is also incredible on the two Guns N Roses songs she sings...she should record those! We were huge fans before and now have even more respect for her, and how humble and appreciative and talented she is!! So anyway needless to say we LOVED the show...lol!! After the concert we had a late supper at IHOP.
Monday
We ate breakfast at the Grand Country Buffet…our favorite breakfast buffet, and headed home.
We had a great time in Branson…and can‘t wait for another trip!!
