Hi - how is the Branson Ducks tour? We've been on the Wisconsin Dells Ducks in WI so I'm thinking it is similar but I'm wondering if it is worth the money and how is the scenery? Thanks.

I was wondering that same things, too. We've been on the Wisconsin Dells duck ride and were wondering if things are so different to see in Branson. What lake do they use? Any discount tickets available somewhere (no more timeshares---please!)

My family and I have enjoyed Branson's Ride the Ducks ride several times. You get a nice scenic view of Branson, especially around the Table Rock Lake area. The Duck will travel up this mountainous area with old military vehicle displays alongside the road. This property is owned by the Ride the Ducks company, so it is something that you can't view unless on the Duck ride. It is quite interesting. At the top of the "mountain" you get a fantastic bird's eye view of Table Rock Lake. After coming down the mounting, the Duck goes out onto Table Rock Lake. You can get a very nice view of Chateau on the Lake hotel, and the Branson Showboat, if it's out on the water at the same time.

I've always liked this attraction. It's a time when you can just relax and let some one else do the driving.

Look for discount coupons in the Sunny Day Guide, Best Read Guide, or Travel Host magazine that you will find in your motel/hotel lobby. I think you can also print a coupon from this website:

The Ducks are always a fun change in the daily vacation routine. They even give you a free quacker to annoy your friends! Anxious

So does this duck-mobile actually go into the lake like a boat? If so, how far from the coastline does it go and for how long? Do they let you bring a fishing pole? Wink

Very Happy Quack Quack !!!

I love the ducks. It's a great time to rest and let someone else show you around. The cost as of 9/2/05 was $16.95 per adult for an 80 minute ride and a free quacker Laughing . To me thats not bad for the price if you compare it to other attractions in the area.

As your captain takes you around branson, they point out places of interest. You go over Table Rock Dam and down by the lake. You go to the top of Beard or Bard Mountain and the view is awesome. My favorite part is when we ride into Table Rock Lake. Its refreshing and beautiful.

At any given hotel / motel you can find discount coupons. There's usually one for the ducks. You get $1 off each admission.

I hate to be on the downside of this. But I don't think I'll be riding the ducks anymore. Here's a link as to what happend in Hot Springs in 1999 and killed 13 people. It was so sad. Some made it out and some didn't.

I'm not a great Ducks fan as I don't like being that close to the water. I did enjoy Lake Queen and Polynesian Princess (which then became Branson's American Star) when they were in business. I haven't tried Spirit of America which, I believe, is on Table Rock Lake.

That is really sad! I can't believe that the thing sank and that so many people died! How tragic!

Personally I never worried much about the water, I just hate being blasted in the face with the hot outside air. You couldn't pay me to sit a top a large open vechile and then drive me around during the hot and muggy part of the year. Give me air conditioning!
