I'm new and have a sensitive question to ask. We are planning to visit Kansas City in August and were thinking about going on to Branson. We are an interacial couple (black and white) with a biracial child. I need an honest opinion, will we be welcome in Branson or could we have problems? I don't want to experience any outright racism especially in front of my little girl. Please, honesty is important here regardless of political correctness.

For myself, I think your family will be fine in Branson. You will all have a great time. Have you ever been to Branson before?

Welcome to the board!!!

Thanks for your input! This will be our first trip, my parents have visited many times in the past and still play the Mickey Gilley tape regularly. They went to 3 shows a day and still couldn't get enough. My little girl and I love country western and my husband loves to fish. We can reach a compromise and do both things. If you have any advice please let me know and again thanks for your response.

How old is your little girl?
I relaly enjoy the Presleys Jubilee, The Dutton's, if you like magic, I enjoy Kirby Van Burch.
Also the Haygoods is a very good show too. If you ever liked Elvis, Tony Roi's Elvis Experience is a very good show too. You can get a deal at Music City Center (that's where Tony Roi and Haygoods perform) that when you see one of their shows at MCC, you get a discount for another show at MCC.
Good luck planning your vacation.

P. S.
I sent you a PM, check your message.

Thanks for your info! We have decided that we will definitely plan on going to Branson in August. Our daughter will be almost 9 when we go. Please let us know if you have suggestions for shows that are appropriate for her. We will be traveling in an RV and if you have any information on a good RV park that also may be near water (for fishing).

I'm not much help on a camping spot, but maybe someone can help you.

As far as shows, I suggest The Presleys http://www.presleys.com/

The Haygood is a fun fast paces show. There are I believe 7 boys and 1 girl in the family.
They perform at Music City Center, here is the link: http://www.musiccitycentre.com/

I also like the Duttons, it's a family show too. Here's the link for them: http://www.theduttons.com/

Another of my favorites is Kirby Van Burch magic show. If you chose this show make sure you get the back stage tour. You will LOVE it! here's the link: http://www.kirbyvanburch.com/

Good luck in planning your trip. You might pul up Bransons Chamber of Commerce site and maybe there might be info for camping. If I hear of anything I'll post it. Maybe someone else on the board can help you with that.

I'm hopefully going to Branson the first weekend in August for my birthday.

Have fun planning your trip.
I know you will have fun in Branson! Very Happy
