I HAVE HEARD ABOUT THE GREAT WESTERN INN, HAS ANYONE STAYED THERE???
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY OTHER CHEAP MOTELS???

Branson probably has more cheap hotels per square mile than any other place I know. Staying in Branson is VERY affordable and they only time you'll see "No Vacancy" signs are during the Christmas season. You can stay at several hotels right on the strip for only $24.99 a night. Sorry, I can't remember any names at the moment--I just know there are a bunch.

Get on travelocity.com and tripadvisor for some links--
There is one for $24.99 for two adults, while other sites have it for higher (same hotel, too). It begins with "C" but haven't had time to relook.

Also, get on MidwestTravelBuddy.com for some great deals for more than two.

If you find some that are any cheaper--please post them. We're doing the timeshare thing for part, but want to stay in the area for other attactions.


One of the links had some comments about some that have great "car club ratings" (you know which one!) We read and were advised by those less fortunate who booked there.

I found a website that gave us some coupons. They asked for and email address and give you a great deal of responses of cheap hotels.

We have stayed at the Fall creek in for 39.00.
Branson's best was also great. It had a terrific breakfast bar and Icecream and cobbler at night. It also was about 39.00. They do not honor the coupon when their capacity is about 85% so book early or it would be great for a week day.

I HAVE STAYED AT SOME CHEEP MOTELS. I NEVER MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR BRANSON BECAUSE I KNOW I CAN FIND A CLEAN CHEEP HOTEL. HERE ARE SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET A GOOD ONE.

ARRIVE EARLY AND ALLOW TIME TO CHECK OUT A COUPLE PLACES. WATCH THE SIGNES ON THE ROAD. WHEN YOU SEE A PRICE YOU LIKE PULL IN AND ASK AT THE DESK. SOME OF THE MOTELS WILL USE THAT PRICE AS ALMOST BAIT AND SWITCH. WHEN YOU GET IN THEY WILL SAY THEY ONLY HAD ONE OF THOSE ROOMS AT THAT PRICE AND IT IS OCCUPIES. THEY HOPE YOU WILL TAKE ANOTHER ROOM AT A HIGHER PRICE. JUST WALK AWAY. MANY WILL CALL YOU BACK BEFORE YOU GET OUT THE DOOR WITH A ROOM AT THAT PRICE. IF NOT GO ON TO THE NEXT ONE.

DON'T GET FRUSTRATED IF YOU HAVE TO STOP AT SEVERAL PLACES. NOT ALL USE BAIT AND SWITCH, SOME HAVE PLENTY ROOMS AT THAT PRICE. ESPECIALLY IF YOU CHECK IN SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

THE CATCH IS THAT OFTEN THE ROOM ONLY HAVE TWO DOULBLE BEDS FOR THAT PRICE. I PREFER A QUEEN OR KING BED. THE ROOMS ARE ALWAYSE ON THE TOP FLOOR AND ALMOST NEVER AN ELIVATOR.

WHEN YOU FIND ONE WITH A ROOM AVAILABLE, ASK TO SEE THE ROOM BEFORE YOU CHECK IN. YOU WILL GET TO MAKE SURE THE ROOM IS CLEAN AND WHAT YOU EXPECTED. IF IT IS GREAT, IF NOT MOVE ON.

ONE YEAR AT CHRISTMAS MY WIFE AND I MADE 9 STOPES BEFORE WE FOUND A ROOM WE COULD AGREE ON. SOME MOTELS DID NOT HAVE THE ROOM THEY ADVERTISED, BUT A COUPLE DID--WE JUST DID NOT THINK THE ROOM WAS CLEAN ENOUGH.

WE ENDED UP ON THE GREAT WESTERN, RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOLLYWOOD WAX MUSEUM. WE HAD A KING SIZE BED ON THE THIRD FLOOR. THE ROOM WAS A LITTLE ACCLETLIC IN DESIGN, BUT IT HAD BEEN RENOVATED RECIENTLY AND IT WAS CLEAN. MY WIFE AND I STAYED 3 NIGHTS (IN ON THURSDAY AND OUT ON FRIDAY) AND THE ROOM ONLY COST $94 FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND.

IT WAS NOT THE HILTON AND THERE WAS NOT A FREE BREAKFAST, BUT THERE WAS A POOL.

CHEEP MOTELS ARE WORTH THE HASSEL TO FIND.
