I stayed at a Thousand Hills condo about 6 summers ago, and it is nice. We had a 3 bedroom condo for 6 adults and 3 children. We had plenty of space, the rooms were large, the balcony overlooking the golf course was wonderful, and the jacuzzi tub was nice after walking the hills at SDC. I would recommend Thousand Hills. If you have an Entertainmnet coupon book card, and you book no more than 30 days in advance, you can get a 50% discount on your rental. That's what we did and our rental was very reasonable.
Currently we have stayed at Fairfield Meadows Resort two times in the past three years, and will be returning there on Aug 6. I like the layout of this resort much better. I have also been able to find better rates at this resort. There is no golf course here, but Pointe Royale is next door. If you are interested in the Meadows, give this gentleman a call. There are no addtl taxes when you rent from Allen, so $69/night, for a two bdrm condo is all you pay; whereas for a motel room you pay something like 11% tax in addition to room charge.
