We just returned from our family vacation to Branson and had the best time. We can't wait to go back again. Everyone is so nice there. Hospitality is so great! We stayed at Southern Oaks Inn and it was wonderful, clean, nice big indoor pool and nice outdoor pool as well, great continental breakfast. The staff was very friendly. The only downfall is no elevator but we needed to walk the stairs after eating so much last week. heehee We tried out restaurants such as Danna's which was absolutely wonderful (our first time eating there), Sonic (we don't have one here in Sheboygan, WI and it was very tasty and reasonably priced), McFarlains was also very good. We also desired some Mexican food one night so we ate at Elenita's (not sure of spelling but that was very good also). We saw Darren Romeo, Dixie Stampede, and Tall Timbers Lumberjack show as well as riding the Ducks, going to The Butterfly Place, and Waltzing Waters. We had a jam-packed week full of fun. We also took our 4-year-old son to many of the Track places there to go on rides and go-karts. He had a blast. The only downfall was the terrible heat of usually over 100 degrees which was hard on us being that we are used to the cold weather in Wisconsin but now today it is 95 degrees so I guess we brought the heat back with us. Yikes! Just wanted to share what a great time we had and we will be back. It is such a family-friendly place. Our son loved driving the duck for a little bit on Table Rock Lake and printing out his own honorary captain license and also after the Waltzing Waters show he got to make some of the water go using the controls so that he thought was great. It was nice how they included kids in so many shows/activities. So to everybody going to Branson or thinking about going, have a great time. We sure did! Smile

We leave VERY soon--CINDY---How did you REALLY like the TTLS? Was the food good ie kid friendly? Since you were just there--any extra comments?

Thanks for your newsy summary. We have to decide on our tickets for our timeshare thing when we arrive and we were leaning toward the lumberjack show because of the info we got--most are from your area (brrr!) So they are suppose to really know the Northwoods stuff.
Was it worth the time?

Thanks! Smile

To Guest From Iowa - We did enjoy the lumberjack show. The food was very good. We got chicken or steak and then coleslaw, a role, some hot potato salad, and a strawberry shortcake type of dessert plus unlimited Pepsi or ice tea. Our son was free as he is 4 so he got a hot dog, chips, applesauce, and the same dessert and beverage as us. He enjoyed himself. He thought it was great. My son and husband enjoyed the show more than me but I was also roasting as the night we went it was 115 with the heat index so it wasn't very pleasant sitting there with the sun on our faces but that's life. I was just glad our son liked it. He still talks about it and now we are back two weeks already. Smile Have lots of fun!

I just wanted to say that, recently I spent a night in Branson to see the Spirit of the Dance show. I just have to say that the show is extremely under rated. Alot of the other shows are fun, but Spirit of the Dance really lets you experience some different and amazing cultures. I was very impressed.

We just got back from Branson and we had a wonderful time once again. It's so nice to go somewhere that you know you will be safe and the entertainment clean. Our favorite show is the Hughes Brothers Show. It's a wonderful show with 5 Brothers, 5 wives and 20 kids! What talent! We can't wait to go to branson again!!

Very Happy My husband and I had a wonderful time in Branson with some of our friends. We ended up staying at a beautiful condo at Thousand Hills. The weather was a little hot but sunny. The evenings cooled off a little and my husband was able to enjoy a few rounds of golf. In afternoons and evenings we went to some shows. We saw our regular favorites: the Hughes Brothers, Jim Stafford, Lost in the 50's, Shoji Tabuchi, and Yakov. We also saw some new shows that we liked: Cirque, Oak Ridge Boys, the Duttons, and Dixie Stampede. Dixie was extra fun because of the food and the show. I loved those cute little pigs racing around the track! We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back for the Christmas shows!!! Very Happy

I've heard that the Spirit of the Dance is really good this year. I still haven't managed to see it, but when I do, I'll be sure to report.

I DISAGREE. I WAS VERY DISAPOINTED IN SPIRIT OF THE DANCE. THE DANCERS WERE OFTEN OUT OF STEP WITH EACH OTHER.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT SEE CIRQUE OR EVEN BETTER, ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE SHOWS IN TWON PLAYS AT 76 MUSIC HALL IN THE MORNING. I LOVED COMEDY PET THEATRE. YOU EXPERIENCE A FOREIGN CULTURE THERE AS WELL. THE WHOLE COMPANY IS PART OF THE RUSSIAN CIRCUS.

We have never seen Spirit of the Dance, so we can't comment on the show; but we can comment on Comedy Pet Theater. And unless you have children, this is definitely not the show to spend your money on if you are looking for something to do in the morning. There's lots, too much really, of juggling and yes, the animals are adorable, but this show is definitely geared for children. If you are looking for a morning show, go see Yakov or The Lowe Family. You'll definitely get your monies worth from these two shows.
