I went to Branson Thanksgiving weekend too. I'll use your rating ratio.
We stayed at The Dutton Inn. Very nice service, clean rooms. Nice breakfast too! 10 Gilleys Cafe, 9 Good food, in the past a couple of times it wasn't good, but it's much better now.
We saw the Dutton show Friday night, AWESOME show!! 10 Saturday we ate at Ruby Tuesdays. It was very good. The staff was ok, but our waitress was one that liked to talk and visit with everyone. She kept forgetting to bring our refills of our drinks. Food 10 The waitress was a nice person, but took too long to "wait" on us. She gets a 4 We saw the Presleys show Saturday night. 10 The Duttons and the Presleys are my two favorite shows. |

Sounds like we were all down there at the same time! My hubby and I were also down in Branson during the week of Thanksgiving. In my opinion it's the best time to go because everyone else is at their relatives house for THanksgiving but the town is still in full swing! I got a lot of shopping done at Tanger and Red Roof for Christmas.
We stayed at the Welk Resort and saw the following shows: 1 - The Lowe Family - One of my favorites! They surprised me with a gorgeous harp and bagpipes (never had either of them before). I must admit I cried when the Lowe girls played the Ave Maria on the harp and had the other singing it in Latin. Pure elegance. They also had the oldest granddaughter there and she was adorable! 2 - Darren Romeo - Saw him earlier in the year and the show didn't change much for Christmas. It was still a lot of fun to see him and his wife. I enjoyed his music and magic! 3 - The Haygoods - Pure energy! Those boys make my heart beat a little faster and wear me out just watching them. Sure wish I had some of their energy! They have absolutely beautiful harmony. 4 - Broadway - Must say I was a little let down. I've seen the Rocketts before and loved them. Broadway tried to do some of the Rocketts stuff and it just didn't fly. It also seemed like a lot of their stuff was to CD music and not live. I did enjoy the Osmonds though. Fun to see them in action again! 5 - Andy Williams - No Christmas trip to Branson would be complete without seeing Andy Williams' Christmas show! There is so much production and so much to see! I always enjoy the outside of his theater as well. One of the only ones in Branson that is completely decorated in lights! 6 - Dicken's Christmas Carol - Saw this at Silver Dollar City and was pleasantly surprised. They had great actors and good production for being in a smaller theater. I would recommend this to anyone going to Silver Dollar City! Fun to see a Dicken's play in Branson! Well I think I've gone on long enough. I need to get to bed soon! I'll have to get back on later and report on the eating and shopping! Glad to hear everyone else had a great time too! |

we've went for the Christmas Season 6 years now, 3 at Thanksgiving... already talking about making reservations for next year. weather was crazy this year.... fall, winter and a little spring thrown in.... all in a few hours time.
we also saw the Dickens Carol at sdc, this is the first year that we were able to get in, or at least the first time that the line was short enough that we were willing to wait to get in... they pack them in there dont they |
