If you're looking for the best, I recommend the Chateau on the Lake. My wife and I celebrated our 50th there last year and it was phenomenal. They have a beautiful atrium in the center of the buildling with two restaurants, a sweet shop, movies, a library, and more. A little on the pricey end (of course) but the view of the lake makes it worth it. Take it for what it's worth.

Hi - just curious if anyone has stayed at Southern Oaks Inn in Branson? We are staying there in a few weeks for the first time. We've been to Branson before but the last time we stayed at Mountain Music Inn which was also a nice place but this time we thought we'd try something different. The lady on the phone who took our reservation was very, very friendly.

I have stayed at Southern Oaks Inn several times. It was about 6 years ago, but I was happy with the motel and their amenities. The rooms were spacious and clean, the indoor pool was very nice, and the location is nice. The breakfast was okay - donuts, hot cinnamon rolls, juice, coffee. Don't know if that has changed any. The staff was always friendly. I think you will be happy with your choice of motel.

I'm embarrased
We've finally succumbed to the time share calls and are coming to Branson--but I can't find out information and discounts like for other areas of the country. How is the Carriage Inn--We have requested it for our resort stay lodging. No promises but from some of the Travelocity postings on Branson area lodging was frightening!!!! I need to know WHAT to stay away from should our request be denied! We are going to hear the Crowne Resort pitch and see what wonders they have in store--how come we aren't staying there? Why use the hotels in town? Does anyone have information that helps with some of the other hotels that are moderately priced, clean and have breakfasts. We have a family of four and want to maximize our $$$ for vacation relaxation and entertainment. Someone please answer we are not getting our Chamber information packet soon enough to make plans for the end of the month. Thanks for help in advance! |

To guest from Iowa...the first time my husband and I went to Branson we stayed at Mountain Music Inn which was priced inexpensively and was very clean and had a nice pool and very good free breakfast every morning. Now this time we are taking our 4-year-old son for the first time in a few weeks and are staying at Southern Oaks Inn, which is also supposed to be nice and is inexpensive. We are only paying around $55.00 per night for a balcony room and they have free breakfast also and an indoor and outdoor pool. Good luck. We are going to the Dixie Stampede (again..we LOVED it the first time) and we are also going to Darren Romeo magic show, and the Tall Timbers Lumberjack dinner show. We can't wait! I hope you have a nice time with your family in Branson as well.

I agree, Chateau on the Lake is beautiful! I have also stayed at Southern Oaks many times, their rooms are always clean and the indoor pool is really nice. I don't go to the outdoor pool very much, but it is also nice. I have read on getawaysaver that Bransons Best is really nice. I have not stayed there yet but I have read that they are really clean and they serve you cobbler and ice cream at night! |

Dutton Inn! Very clean and very friendly and helpful staff. If you are just wanting a clean and nice place to stay this is it. Right off the strip with easy access to 76 and Green Mountain. They do not have a pool though.

Thanks all,
I really do appreciate the help! I have started the checking now! I'll be back to the forum later to if anyone can think of a place to stay AWAY FROM---FOR SURE! Everything always looks so nice on the internet and in the brochures. But, I can't get out of my mind one listed for Chicago in that hotel's "pride " catagory! Shudder-shudder. Sure got us off to a bad start! |

We have been to Branson many times, always staying some place different. Have never really had a bad experience. We like Indian Point too, as it is away from the hustle and bustle, but close to get to SDC and 76. In August we are going to stay at the Settle Inn Resort. Any comments would be appreciated!

Hi Patty. My family stayed at the Settle Inn several years ago and it was very nice. The kids loved the indoor pool. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I'm sure you'll enjoy it there.

Hello everyone,
My family and I are planning our frist trip to Branson in just a few weeks, Aug 15 - 18th. It will be my husband and I with our two children 10 and 13 years. We are planning on being there by 3pm, hopefully. it is a 5 hour drive from our little town. We are wanting to stay at a nice hotel with the free delux breakfast and an indoor pool, hottub. we would also like to have two dbl beds and CLEAN rooms. I know for some people the hotel, motel does not matter, but for us it does, it is part of the vaction, especialy for me. we would like to keep the price at least to $100. and under. for a night. Any suggestions on which hotel to choose? Also we were offered a discounted trip through the 90 min timeshare thing in which we are not interested. we are thinking of passing it up. they only wanted to give us a 3 night stay at the settle inn, with 2 dbl beds and 4 tickets to the biggest magic show, and 4 tickets to Yakoff ( spelling? ) all this for $312. when I turned it down, she called back the next day offering to take off $50. more dollars. Is this a good offer. I checked it out and thought it would save me about $130. but we would have to stay with the 90 min time thing. well if anyone has any ideas on the hotel please let me know. also we are thinking of just going and then getting out tickets for shows. ect. when we get there. is this a good idea, or would they be sold out. we are wanting to see crquie, and yakoff, the biggest magic show ( again the spelling) thanks cherry. |

CherryKat - A few suggestions that I would reccommend that may interest you.
The Cascades Inn (www.cascadesinn.com) Located off the strip on Shepard of the Hills Expwy. Nice rooms, clean, large, two queen beds available, larger than typical bathrooms, second vanity area outside of bathroom. Has a large indoor pool and large indoor hot tub, and pool table & video games next to pool area. Nice deluxe continental breakfast - variety of cereals, breads/toast, bagels, cream cheese, donuts, danish, milk, juice, coffee - no hot items (unless that has changed since my last visit about 5 years ago). All indoor corridors, elevator access for upper levels, large lobby area, level parking, electronic room access. Room rate was about $75/night, not sure of current rates. This is my favorite motel in Branson. Southern Oaks Inn (www.southernoaksinn.com) Located off the strip on Shepard of the Hills Expwy. Nice rooms, clean, large, two queen beds available, Has large indoor pool and indoor hot tub, also has an outdoor pool (can't remember if hot tub outside also). Nice continental breakfast - fresh baked cinnamon rolls, breads/toast, bagels, cream cheese, donuts, danish, milk, juice, coffee - no hot items (unless that has changed since my last visit about 6 years ago). A couple of buildings have outdoor only corridors, but the back building has indoor corridors (and the indoor pool). Some of those rooms have outdoor balconies. Room rate was about $65/night, not sure of current rates. Very nice motel, highly recommended. For more Branson motel information, go to www.getawaysaver.com/forum, click on Branson Missouri, then click on Branson Lodging. You will find lots of motel/hotel reviews, and maybe the information you are looking for. Good luck with finding lodging, and enjoy your trip to Branson. It's a wonderful vacation destination! |

CherryKat - We just got back on Saturday from a week in Branson and we stayed at Southern Oaks Inn and it was a VERY nice, clean, friendly hotel. The breakfast included biscuits and gravy, fresh cinnamon roles, dougnuts, juice, coffee and was always very good and started us off for the day. Our room was always cleaned very fast. The indoor pool is very big enclosed in a glass area. The outdoor pool is nice also but smaller and we didn't use that as much because of the heat outside. We only paid about $50.00 per night so that was a great deal and because it is off the strip the road isn't so busy like 76 Country Blvd. is. Good luck and have fun in Branson. We love it there. Be sure to see the Dixie Stampede when you are there. Bye.
